Round 5 Cassandra vs. Che  "Peace With A Lie"

Peace With A Lie

Who doesn’t enjoy peace,
It’s not talkative,
It’s not boastful,
It’s cooperative.

I like peace.

But have you ever seen peace with a lie?
It’s mannerisms changes,
And it gets shy.

It’s a deeper quiet,
One that wears shades,
And long sleeves,
And socks and shoes.

It sticks out like a sore thumb,
And still it’s hard to grasp,
It’s mean looking,
And yet still so peaceful.

The chemistry of the two,
I tell you,
So blue-green.

And still you should see the line.

They come in droves to make peace with a lie,
They die waiting to make peace with a lie,
They lay in hospital rooms trying to make peace with a lie.

I did see the line,
And it did get my attention.

I did see the line,
And it sure sounded as if it called my name.

I did see the line,
And it looked like fun.

I did see the line,
And it was moving fast.

I did see the line,
But couldn’t find the sand.

I did see the line,
And tried to jump it.

And just about then...

There was a growl,
And then a hiss.

And that’s when,
I awakened from my daydream,
And found peace,
Sitting there naked.

And it’s just about then,
I dropped the lie,
And held onto that peace,
With both hands.

And when I did,
True peace smiled.

Chad-Ezra "Che"- She was right there; where I left her... and when I did my 360 I swear I spotted her, but I can no longer see her.  My parents are up there too, but I wouldn't dare look their way now.  Something told me it was a bad idea to come right out the gate with the truth.  Something told me they couldn't handle it.  Religion, abuse, condemnation, and freedom all in one poem.  Surely sounds like a Documental.  I can see that they're hanging in there with me though.  Especially after Charity.  Guess they're trying to wrap their minds around me; the youthfulness and the awareness and how well they've married.  There's a good bit of voices breaking the silence with "Alright, alright." and that let's me know not to run.  So I turn the page, take a look at the next drawing, and continue... but my mind in still in search of her.

Peace With A Lie

We make peace with flies,
We make peace with learning to tie a tie,
Why can't we make peace with a lie.

We make peace with the thought that we're going to die,
We make peace with flies,
We make peace with learning to tie a tie,
Why not a lie?

I think of lies like ribbons,
I tie and untie.

I think of ribbons like peace,
Beautifully done,
Beautifully undone.

I think of peace like ribbons,
They hang.. they don't hang,
They curl.. they don't curl.

I think of the world in uncomplicated ways,
I make peace with flies,
And I cover my fly.

Introduction to Freeborn

The Decks and the Road Book 1- Freeborn Introduction “You have not seen your life, until you’ve seen a circle.” In life we take the hands we are dealt, and hit the road.  Sometimes the deck makes us a slave, and other times, the road wears us down.  Then, every now and again we get a glimpse of the Freeborn ; the beauty that is born at the round-about.  It’s a fragile beauty; a beauty that can be easily seen but not understood.  It’s the beauty you hope will be with you forever.  But, too bad; it was born free.  It comes, it harnesses the wind, it creates a line in the sky, and then, it’s gone.  The freeborn is not for the aspirational.  It’s useless to aspire to.  It’s not up to us who breathe, but it’s decided by the one who gives breath.  The generations could not purge itself to exist this way; nor could traditions.  It’s the resting of a hand—the touch of destiny; and boy is it sure to be victimized.  Yet, never mind the all the sympathy.  The Freeborn is nobody’s ga

She still recalls me, My visions, They’re crucial. Sometimes they’re one
